What we collect
Account basics from your sign-in provider (name, email, avatar); the pacts, vows, and receipts you create; the consequence content you write and approve; and operational logs. Uploaded photos are stored privately and are only ever shown if a consequence you approved executes.
Sensitive tokens
If you connect X or LinkedIn, we store access tokens encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and use them only to post the confession you approved, only if you fail. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
How we use it
To run pacts, judge weeks, and carry out the consequences you consented to; to send the emails the game requires; and to measure product health in aggregate. We do not sell your data.
What’s public, and only what you chose
Public surfaces (shame pages, the Wall of Shame) show only content you authored and approved, and only if you failed. Shame pages are not search-indexed unless you separately opt into SEO mode. Your Shame Contact can decline all contact with one click.
Your controls
You can revoke consent by deserting, disconnect socials or remove your card any time, and request account deletion — which cascades: your escrow is deleted, shame pages you own are unpublished, and wall entries are anonymized to “A Deserter.”
Retention & contact
We keep records needed for audit and dispute resolution (for example, that consent existed and its hash), even after content is deleted. Privacy requests: press@shamegame.app.
